Kukere crooner, Iyanya is once again in the news, as the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has banned him from taking off his shirt in his music videos.
In a statement released this morning, the NBC said “We hereby forbid Mr. Iyanya Mbuk from taking off his clothing before, during or after video shoots. In fact, from now on, his chest is only permitted to be bare when he’s showering or changing clothes. Why? We want listeners to concentrate on his music, not his body. Plus his body proportion is all wrong. Arms are too short. If he can get an arm elongation surgery, we’ll allow him take off his shirt. Until then, no more bare chest”
Women and Gay men around the country have expressed outrage over the decision, calling the NBC “callous and unfair”
